Marcia Donavan

Marcia graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Mackenzie University in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Early in her career, Marcia was an entrepreneur starting three companies, two in Brazil and one in the U.S.
In 1999, Marcia joined Stuart High School, now called Justice High School, helping immigrant parents to understand school procedures and how to advocate for their children in U.S. schools. In 21 years as a parent liaison, Marcia has taken courses in social economics, student learning, trauma, peer mediation, and gang activity to help students with their problems. Marcia also gives students social, emotional and academic support to help them graduate and succeed in their life after high school.
Marcia speaks Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Why do you help students?
Parents want to help their children go to college, but they don’t know what their child needs to do to be accepted into a college. Some students think they cannot go to college for several reasons, including money, lack of documentation, self-esteem issues, and lack of support.
